My name is Betty Franks. I've been making teddy bears since 1991. My passion for this hobby grew when I started making bears from my own patterns and designs. I just love teddy bears and everything they represent. It offers a time when things in life become smaller and much simpler.
It has been fun experimenting with different materials. I use several fabrics, mohair, alpaca, needle felting, and memory teddy bears. I also make my own personal pattern rag dolls. Most of my bears are made with mohair, glass eyes, embroidered noses and expressions. Cotter pins, bolts, and lock nuts are used to fasten the head, arms and legs.
