內(nèi)容簡(jiǎn)介:
Market-based instruments such as emissions trading schemes and emissions taxes offer the exciting potential to achieve cost-effective improvements in the environment. This lecture will review how market mechanisms work and the environmental and economic advantages they offer over regulatory and other approaches to improving the environment. The class will also address a number of design principles relating to market-based instruments. International examples and case studies will be used, and lessons for China’s current efforts to expand the use of market-based instruments will be discussed. The lecture will be highly interactive.
