主講人簡(jiǎn)介：
Valerian O. Pede，國(guó)際水稻研究所科學(xué)家，菲律賓大學(xué)兼職教授（Adjunct Professor）。美國(guó)Purdue University博士。研究方向包括空間經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)、發(fā)展經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)、農(nóng)業(yè)經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)，主要從事有關(guān)空間與社會(huì)行為的分析。 Pede博士主持完成蓋茨基金等多項(xiàng)國(guó)際基金項(xiàng)目，在亞洲、非洲、美洲等多國(guó)從事科研工作。在計(jì)量經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)、發(fā)展經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)、農(nóng)業(yè)經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)領(lǐng)域發(fā)表論文二十余篇。并多次受邀為國(guó)際期刊和國(guó)際會(huì)議評(píng)審論文。

Spatial Econometrics is a sub-field of Econometrics that allows modeling spatial dependence or spatial autocorrelation in regression models. It focuses on modeling relationships, explicitly accounting for spatial effects. The field is regarded as one of the most rapidly growing areas in Econometrics today, with applications in various domains. This presentation will briefly introduce the theory of spatial econometrics and provide application in two studies: (1) Spatial Dynamics of Economic Growth: The Case of US Counties; (2) Social Relationship and Behavioral Spillover: The Case of Irrigated and Rainfed Rice Farmers in Bohol, the Philippines.
