July 22, 2010 - BIT Wenchuan Summer Social Practice Group set out to visit 5.12 earthquake-stricken areas. Seven group members travelled to Yingxiu, Wenchuan county, Dujiangyan, and Qingchengshan. They reached seriously affected Yingxiu, visited Wenchuan Earthquake Museum, met students in Dujiangyan Juyuan Middle School, visited the elderly in Qingchengshan Welfare Home, and inspected the restoration of Qingchengshan scenic spots and the recovery of tourism. The group issued a large number of survey questionnaires.
From several days of interviews and investigations, students benefited a lot. They felt the strong faith and optimism of the people. They witnessed the Party and the Government's deep concern and support is a strong pillar to the spirit; housing reconstruction, psychological comfort, and people living placement offered great hope to the disaster area.
